Amaroq Weiss, West Coast Wolf Advisor for Center for Biological Diversity has been busy, among many other things, making movies. Amaroq and the rest of the staff at CBD have recently completed three wonderful videos on our favorite canine.
“The Center for Biological Diversity works through science, law and creative media to secure a future for all species, great or small, hovering on the brink of extinction.” |
The first is a short film, Join the Fight for Wolves, that discusses the importance of keeping wolves on the Federal Endangered Species List. The second is an enhanced version of the first. The third film is the comedy relief in the all too serious environment that surrounds Canis lupus. This video, called What to Wear at a Wolf Rally, with Amaroq in the leading role, will lighten your heart, as well as give you something constructive to do on a rainy afternoon.
Enjoy them all (posted below), and remember, the comment period for the Federal delisting runs until October 28, 2013. The three public hearings will be held on:
September 30 in Washington, D.C.
October 2 in Sacramento, California
October 4, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Details can be found on the US FIsh and Wildlife Service Grey Wolf Recovery website.
And if you haven’t had a chance to listen to the Animal News Hour audio file featuring Amaroq, myself, and several other wolf women on the many reasons to keep wolves on the Federal Endangered Species List, here is the link. This is amazing, definitely worth listening to!
Beckie thank you again for all you do to protect and educate people about our wolves. These videos are wonderful in that they offer a short but informative education on what is happening to wolves and why everyone, not just wolf advocates need to be concerned and speak up to protect them. Amaroq Weiss is awesome. I sure hope I get to meet here in Sacramento!
